What will become of us?
Join Wiswás to rebuild justice, transparency and accountability in Lebanon.

From the Arabic word وسواس (waswās) — meaning whisper, inner voice, doubt, or persistent thought. In modern usage, Wiswás evokes the constant dialogue inside people and societies: the thoughts we hesitate to say out loud, the questions that shape us, and the tension between fear, truth, and change.

Upward Momentum
The concept of the Wiswás logo features overlapping speech bubbles to symbolize the ongoing internal dialogue and shared conversations that define the obsessions and anxieties of Lebanon's middle class. The interlocking design creates a dynamic and modern visual that bridges the English and Arabic text.
Lebanon's Middle Class: "ENOUGH already"
Wiswás is a civic initiative focused on restoring credibility, the rule of law, and the future of Lebanon's middle class. The poor get aid, the rich get richer — and the middle class? They carry the perpetual concerns of a country in collapse, asking the same question every day: what will become of us?
Lebanon has always been known for its "rich" middle class; but currently, in Lebanon, the "middle class" have perpetual concerns & obsessions on a daily basis at every corner of local & outside events. "What will become of us?"
The middle class are the ones who suffer most in economic crises. The poor basically get aid from the government and NGOs. Many rich got richer, because "it's who you know", except for those rich who have no access to politicians, bankers, and their hostaged deposits, these have themselves become the new middle class, if not poor!
"From anxious waswising to focused action. Hope is an act."
When hope, resilience, and a solutions-oriented mindset are present, fixation gives way to focused action.
Even amid systemic collapse and betrayal by fellow citizens, a determined resolve to preserve a dignified way of life allows attention to shift toward building an authentic, Lebanese way of living. This is the constructive redirection we aim for. These are the principles that drive us to act toward the Lebanon that all Lebanese aspire to have.
Our Strategy: Target & Tool
The Banking Ponzi File
The single corruption file that, like a bowling strike, brings down the largest share of the ruling cartel at once.
We believe that strategically, the “corruption file” that represents more than the rest a “bowling strike” (a bowling strike is achieved when all 10 pins are knocked down) is the “BANKING PONZI FILE” because it brings down & weakens a larger number of elites or “manzoumi” or “cartel”. Why? Because “they” own 43% of banks and “they” transferred millions of dollars out of Lebanon. In short, almost all of “them” are linked to the banking file, while few are linked to one of the “many other corruption files” and such as electricity, internet, telcom, gaz & oil deals, gravel quarries, crushers and concrete factories, diesel and gasoline reservoirs & tanks, water reservoirs & tanks, etc.
DSAP
Our scientific, practical, strategic tool — endorsed and lobbied for, towards a better Lebanon.
To every strategic action there’s a strategic tool. DSAP is our scientific, practical, strategic tool which we endorse and lobby for, towards ultimately a better Lebanon.
Thus, for now, Wiswás’s focus is on actualising DSAP, because as educated middle class, irrespective of if we never had or still have deposits held in banks who have prospered and opened branches outside Lebanon, we use our constructive criticism and can judge for ourselves whether or not this banking is the lifesaver of Lebanon.
